Coaches believed to be on the shortlist to replace Alan Pardew as head coach of Newcastle United include:
- Remi Garde
- Christophe Galtier
- Thomas Tuchel
- Lucien Favre
- Dick Advocaat
The link with Dick Advocaat has been played down since the Sunday express went with the story on Sunday morning.
Judging by Newcastle’s performance against Leicester yesterday, the club are in desperate need of change. Handing the reigns to John Carver and Steve Stone for the rest of the season would be in effect, employing Alan Pardew the sequel. The same negative tactics, the same lying to the fans, and just general piss-poor management.
We may have gotten rid of Pardew, but Newcastle United still employ the staff Pardew brought to the club. A foreign coach would be a breath of fresh air, and give the club much needed impetus to push on.
Notably, there are no British candidates mentioned, which would effectively rule out any internal candidates, such as Carver, but would also exclude the likes of Steve McClaren and Eddie Howe.
