According to Sky Sports News (and other various sources), Newcastle United have reached an agreement for Ajax defensive midfielder Vurnon Anita. Anita, who predominantly plays through the middle can also play at left-back.
The agreed fee between the two clubs is thought to be around £6.2 million. Ajax play AZ Alkmaar today, and it is widely considered to be Anita’s farewell game with the club.
Anita is expected to be on Tyneside on Monday to complete a medical ahead of agreeing the move.
