It is thought that a delegation from Newcastle United, said to contain club secretary Lee Charnley, and Managing Director Derek Llambias, are in Holland this weekend to pursue a double swoop, or maybe even a trio of transfer deals.
Players in the club’s radar who play their club football in Holland are Luuk de Jong, Douglas, and Vurnon Anita. The three players are said to be rated very highly by the club’s scouting staff, and with the possibility of both Demba Ba and Cisse playing at the African Cup of Nations next year, a striker has to be top of Newcastle’s wish list.
NUFC are already said to have tabled a bid of £8 Million for De Jong, with FC Twente holding out for somewhere closer £10 Million. Meanwhile, a bid for Mathieu Debuchy is also said to have been made.
It could be a busy few days for transfers at Newcastle United!
